STAR Catholic Names New Beaumont High SchoolStOlivia Catholic High School

During the June 18, 2025 regular board meeting, the Board of Trustees for STAR Catholic School Division approved the name StOlivia Catholic High School for the future Catholic high school in Beaumont.

The naming followed a thoughtful process that considered Catholic identity, student connection, and long-term vision. StOlivia of Palermo, a 15-year-old Christian martyr known for her deep faith, courage, and resilience, was selected as the school’s patron. Her youth and strength in the face of adversity make her an especially powerful and relatable role model for high school students.

Once built, StOlivia Catholic High School will provide a Christ-centered learning environment rooted in academic excellence, Catholic values, and a strong sense of belonging.

This announcement follows the Government of Alberta’s March 2025 approval of planning funding for the project, marking a significant milestone toward meeting the needs of Beaumont’s growing student population.

Further updates on the planning and construction of the school will be shared as the project progresses.
